Position Title:
Financial Stability Specialist
Department: Resource Investment and Community Partnerships
Reports To: VP Community Investment and Financial Stability
The Financial Stability Specialist supports the implementation of financial stability business strategies with the intent of changing community conditions in outcome areas of: 1) Increasing Income; 2) Building Savings; and 3) Gaining and Sustaining Assets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage UWSEM’s Earned Income Tax Credit Initiative
- Coordinate and assist in the Regional Asset Building Collation in the development of appropriate evaluation and measurements by increasing EITC efforts
- Lead the effort to coordinate community partne involved in the Alliance for Economic Inclusion (Bank On Southeast Michigan) in the maintenance data collection, program measurements and technical assistance
- Work with the Regional Asset Building Coalition and UWSEM Volunteer Solutions to develop strategies on tracking volunteers around EITC and Alliance for Economic Inclusion (Bank On Southeast Michigan)
- Assist and identify resources that surround asset building programs and other information that align with current UWSEM initiatives around financial stability
- Assist with identifying and interpreting social and economic data, trends and other human service information.
- Assist in the maintenance of collaborative partnerships/relationships, as appropriate to achieve desired results.
- Utilize expertise in financial stability, asset building and economic development to make recommendations on the merit and impact of funding requests.
- Review and monitor annual program reports.
- Address questions from programs related to Financial Stability.
- Support grant writing efforts to develop and manage program design and evaluation.
- Develop content for marketing and collateral materials in designated impact area programs.
- Works cross-departmentally on internal and external organizational activities and functions
Qualifications:
Education: Requires a bachelor’s degree in social work, human service, public administration, education, social sciences or related field.
Experience:
- Requires minimum two to three years work experience in economic and/or community development.
- Two years experience with outcome-based program planning and/or outcome based program funding is preferred.
- Two years project management and strategic planning experience, ability to work under pressure and on multiple assignments is preferred.
